How Does the Airmaster Ultra Work?
Installation
The Airmaster Ultra is installed within the air ducts of your home’s heating and cooling system, utilizing two safe, proven technologies: ultraviolet light and ozone.
UV Purification
As air moves past the UV lamp, many common bacteria and molds are effectively reduced.*
Ozone Purification
Next, the air passes a specially engineered lamp that emits a precise, controlled amount of ozone. This powerful oxidizer helps neutralize odors from cooking, pets, and other sources—leaving the air noticeably fresher and cleaner.
Continuous Air Quality
The Airmaster Ultra operates quietly and continuously whenever your heating or cooling system is running, helping circulate fresher, cleaner air throughout your home.
Low Maintenance
The only maintenance the Airmaster Ultra requires is occasional replacement of the UV and ozone lamps—a service conveniently handled by your RainSoft dealer.

Understanding Air Purification
You may be familiar with air filtration products, but the Airmaster Ultra is actually an air purifier. The diagrams below help explain the difference. Air filters are also called “mechanical filters.” They work by trapping particles that are too large to pass through (Fig. 1). They collect larger particles, but may not be as effective for many smaller particles. The filters must be changed on a regular basis, as they fill up with the collected debris
(much like the bag on a vacuum cleaner).
Air purifiers, on the other hand, actually sterilize or kill most contaminants.
Both UV and ozone are purification methods. In the Airmaster Ultra, when air passes within the UV light zone (Fig. 2a), most airborne bacteria and molds are killed or sterilized. From there, the air passes by the ozone lamp (Fig. 2b) where odors are neutralized. The process happens continuously and silently as your heating/cooling system runs, and there are no messy filters to change.
